GOALS

Lately I have been reaching and getting really close to some of my goals I have had FOREVER (it seems like it anyway). Well it feels like every time I almost reach the top, temptation and distraction from those goals comes creeping in. NOT COOL. So I am writing my latest goal on here to remind me and help keep me accountable to it.

Goal: No sweets until Christmas.

Now before you judge me, there is a reason to the madness. I have really realized and noticed lately that sweets are a HUGE downfall for me. I seem to do just fine not eating them but it is like once a sweet treat touches my lips I can't stop myself from eating more and more. Then I end up eating too many sweets in a short amount of time and feel horrible! This in my book is not ok, healthy or exhibiting any bit of self control. I really don't want to do this because I like my 'sweet treats' but I figured if I didn't want to give something up that I truly don't need....well it is time to give it up!

I have been clinging to this verse....

"Everything is permissible" - - but not everything is beneficial.....
1 Corinthians 10:23

SO HERE WE GO!!!

Last Weekend.....This weekend

Life needs to slow down a bit!! I hate that I haven't written anything in so long! Josh and I have hardly been home lately being busy almost every night after work.

Last weekend Josh and I went on our yearly camping trip in northern AR. Since we moved here I have gone every year to the War Eagle craft fair. Josh has joined me the last couple years and we have made a fun camping weekend out of it. This year the weather was absolutely perfect for camping/being outdoors and the colors were beautiful.

We got to our campsite (Rocky Branch Campground on Beaver Lake) late Thursday afternoon and set everything up once we got there. We love this campground because it is right on the lake, small and secluded. After getting set up we started our campfire and made some burgers for dinner.

Friday morning consisted of antique store shopping in town. We brown bagged it for lunch and then found a good hiking trail that afternoon. We were both tired after our hike so we went back to the tent and took an 1.5 hour nap!! Really there is nothing better than taking a nap outdoors in the fall.  Josh insisted on having s'mores for dessert that night but we had to have the JUMBO campfire marshmallows! We enjoyed our campfire and a nice walk around the campground that night.

Roasting Marshmallows

These are like 3x the normal size

Apparently this stick  branch needed to be in the fire....

Saturday we packed up our campsite and headed to the craft fair. It was the perfect day, weather wise and we both enjoyed looking at the crafts. There were a couple items we had in mind to get and we found all of them. Some were for us, some gifts for others at Christmas.

All in all it was a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.

This weekend...

Yesterday was Josh's day off so we got some errands done. We did our civic duty and voted early, ran to Lowes, looked for new sunglasses for Josh and found some new 'dress socks' for me (extremely exciting, I know) ....how is it that EVERY pair got a hole in them at the same time???

Today I am finishing up my 'secret project', to be reveled later. Josh is going to work on the never ending project of dining room chairs, they are looking good! We have a couple other little things to get done around the house but nothing too exciting going on here this weekend. Yay!

I hope to blog more consistently, but with the holidays just around the corner, crazy work schedules, and traveling just around the corner who knows if it will really happen!

I am having issues with the pictures today so this is what you get...

Today Josh and I went apple picking at Cadon Crest Apple Orchard, near Guy AR. It started to rain a little bit once we got there but we still had fun. I love walking up and down the row of apple trees searching for the perfect one. Once we finished picking apples we headed home and got to work. We dehydrated some apples, canned some apple pie filling, and later this weekend we are going to make can applesauce (my favorite).

(Josh likes jello sprinkled on his dehydrated apples I like cinnamon)

We ended our day with some grilled cheese and tomato soup, the perfect fall dinner!

Oh, how I love days like this!

Exciting News.....

Last Night We Had A Party Because.....

OUR STUDENT LOANS ARE PAID OFF!

Josh and I have worked very hard the last 3 years to make extra payments, held off on doing several things on the house and other stuff so we could get them paid off! Now, (besides the house) we are debt free!

Over the last 3 years I have felt defeated, thought over and over again 'these will NEVER get paid off' and been angry we couldn't put our money towards more 'fun' stuff. I am so very grateful to have a husband that took the time to plan ahead for our future and kept me grounded when I went on my little rants. I look back now and think, wow it has ONLY been 3 years??? haha....

We celebrated by making our favorite dinner. Steak, popovers, corn souffle, and homemade cheesecake (Josh makes the best)! Dinner was wonderful! Of course I forgot to take pictures. Now we get to start on some more projects on the 2nd floor of the house!

Well, I am off to bible study......Enjoy your day!

Rainy Day

Well, I think fall is officially here! Yesterday it was 85 degrees outside and today it was around 50 degrees and rainy! Big difference in temperature but I LOVE fall and this cooler weather so it was welcomed at the Krieger home.

When I was working out this morning at the gym I couldn't help but laugh watching all the people running from their vehicles into the building. They were wearing hats, jackets and looked absolutely freezing. Granted it was cold, but to this northern girl it wasn't THAT cold. ;)

Last night I finished a fun pumpkin wreath for the front door (yes, the idea is from pinterest). I think it turned out cute.

The hot glue gun and I did not get along well during this project (see my lovely battle wound below). I kept burning myself a little here and there throughout the project, I think mainly it was because I was dealing with mesh and the hot glue would go through and get my fingers. Anyway, I did this at the very end when I was fed up and tired. Needless to say, I ended up in tears and Josh did the final touches for me....such a wonderful man!

Nasty Blister

Like I said earlier today was rainy, but I had lots of errands to run so what does a girl do but put on  her red rain coat, boots and venture out!

I am off to work on another fun project. It is top secret for now as it is a present for one amazing girl I know!!!

Oh, and I have to give a shout out to the Bison on their 48-7 win today, still #1!!
