Wonderful Husband

I have been wanting to get a storage cabinet for awhile to put in the hallway by our laundry room and kitchen. I felt like the counter tops in the kitchen were beginning to get too cluttered with appliances so my amazing hubby said he would make one for me!! Yay, for having a handy man and for spending less money! :-)

One problem came up though....once we got out sweet Penelope, her litter box went in the very spot I wanted the cabinet to go. Well, thanks to my wonderful guy again and his creative skills he came up with the perfect alternative....

(Ignore the unfinished baseboard and doorway, they are being done in the next month though....yay!)

As you can see Josh cut a hole in the side for Penelope to go in and out of. That way guests (and us) don't have to see her litter box and I still get my extra storage!

That is all for my post tonight. Tomorrow we are going to clean up the front flower bed and get some plants for the hanging baskets on the front porch. Check back for pictures. 

PENELOPE

If you know me you know, I am not a cat person and never had the desire to get one. Josh on the other hand grew up with 2 cats and loves them. Well, this fall out of the blue, I had a moment of insanity, thought we should get a cat and the search began. Josh and I both decided if we were going to get a cat it would have to be a good breed with a calm/relaxed temperament. We came upon this website. We loved the cats on here and the breeder is from Plainview, AR....PERFECT! This is how we found our sweet Penelope, who is 1/4 Scottish Fold, 3/4 British Shorthair.

I still can't believe we have a cat but I wouldn't change it for the world. It is amazing how 1 little animal can change so much in your life. She constantly make us laugh and brings so much joy to our family. I'll end the post with some pictures of her.

New Beginning

Well I have finally started a blog. I have been wanting to for some time and am excited to finally begin on this journey. There are several reasons I have wanted to blog:

1. I want to have a journal of our life to look back on and to share with our children someday. 

2. We live so far from both of our families and I wanted a way to share with them all that is going on in our lives. 

3. It is fun :-)
