WEEKEND

FRIDAY

Josh and I were both off of work so we had a 'Day Date'. We ran errands, went out for lunch at U.S. Pizza Company. Neither of us had been there before, pretty sure we will be back in the near future. After lunch we did some furniture shopping. We have been looking for a comfy reading chair for the office, but I really didn't want to spend $500-600 for one. Josh remembered Furniture Row has a clearance/damaged furniture room and low and behold we found a chair! The only thing wrong with it is that the batting underneath the chair was ripped. Umm...easy fix, perfect chair, more than 1/2 the original price? YES, PLEASE!

Remember that bin I spray painted? Well, Josh thought it needed some ribbon around it. We Josh found some at Michaels (I was in there w/him so it wasn't breaking his 'man code' rule). I love it even more now!

SATURDAY

This morning I went and got a pedicure with some friends. My favorite part is the foot/leg massage and of course having someone else paint my toenails. Love these girls and getting to spend time with them!
We picked up our chair today (thank you Keens for letting us borrow your truck), made 2 loaves of banana bread (my mother-in-laws yummy recipe) 1 for us and 1 for the Keens, did laundry, and took a much needed nap. Josh also cleaned up the branches, from the snowstorm, in the backyard while I napped and studied a couple hours for his P.E. exam in April.

I got to have a late night 'skpye date' with some of my family. Always good to see their faces and talk.

Can't wait to get the office done so I can truly enjoy this chair!
(I take most pictures with my phone these days so they aren't the best but they work)

SUNDAY

After church we had a relaxing afternoon watching football and getting a couple odds and ends done around the house before bible study. Josh also made beef jerky. He has been wanting to for quite awhile and it turned out pretty good for his first try.

It was also my big brothers birthday - the big 3-0! Love you brother so very much!

Have A Fabulous Week!

A Little Bit of Heaven

We made a new recipe for lunch today, Garlic Shrimp with Coconut Rice. Oh. My. Word. It is DELICIOUS! Every bite we were both raving about how yummy it was. It had a little bit of spice to it and was so very easy to make. I personally think the coconut milk made this recipe. We both agreed we would have added a little more seasoning to the rice but that is it.

Check it out and enjoy, you won't be disappointed.

~ WEEKEND SO FAR ~

Josh is having a "guys weekend" so I was free as a bird to do whatever I wanted last night and today. Friday night I was able to get some stuff done around the house and got started on a little project. After getting that all out of the way I relaxed and did some pinterest shopping :-)

Today after a short workout I got ready, rain boots and all, and ran errands/went shopping.  Lunch was compliments of Whole Foods salad bar and it was delicious. I stopped by The Sparrows Nest and found some furniture I have been looking for. I will probably be stopping back in this week to get it! Please check out their facebook page. It is a resale shop and the proceeds go to P.A.T.H (Partners Against Trafficking Humans). Cute Furniture, great prices and awesome cause.....i'm sold!

When I got home I attempted a pinterest recipe I have been wanting to try, Peanut Butter Banana Bites. It is a easy, easy recipe and does taste delicious, but mine did not turn out looking good at all. Instead of melting chocolate chips like the recipe calls I melted some vanilla almond bark. It worked fine at first and then it started getting thick and a little chunky. Not sure if the banana did something to it or what.... But I do know it still tasted yummy, and really that is all that counts!

Peanut Butter banana freezer bites. Would be a good *portion controlled* sweet treat to keep around!
This is what they are supposed to look like

This is what mine looked like after I froze them....HA!

Below is my little project. We got this bin at one of our wedding showers and have used it for all sorts of stuff through the years. Lately it has been in the living room holding our blankets but I wanted to change the color. So I did just that, a little spray paint and voila, I love it! I had wanted to do it a more bright color but we have brown and hand and it worked. I am hoping to make some  pillows soon for the couch to add a little more pop of color.

That it all the excitement at the Krieger household. Now it is time for a movie!

Texas and NDSU Game

This past weekend Josh and I headed down to Frisco, Texas for the FCS Championship game. Of course, our amla mater, NDSU was playing. We got down to Frisco area Friday afternoon and did some shopping. Let me tell you that area is just one big shopping center it goes on and on. The main places we went to were IKEA and World Market. I found some chairs for our dining room and plan on ordering them this week (they didn't have enough in the store)...YAY!

We headed off to the hotel to drop off our stuff before dinner. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Allen. The room was very nice with a beautiful balcony view.

Josh needed a haircut and there was a place near our hotel so he headed on over. We were in the mood for some mexican food and his hair stylist suggested Uncle Julio's. It was delicious and tons of food. Neither of us could finish our plate. We walked around to some shops before heading back to the hotel for the night.

Saturday we left the hotel around 9:30 so we could do some tailgating and walk around before the big game. The stadium was probably 3/4 Bison fans and 1/4 Sam Houston. We had a blast, stood the entire time and both had sore throats the next day from cheering! :-)
Bison won 39-13!!

~2012~

As I look back on this last year I can't believe how much has changed in our lives, how much fun we have had and that 2013 is almost here!

Here are some bullet points of 2012:

  • Happiness - I finally LOVE where we live and what God is doing in our lives. Complete turn around from a year ago.
  • 5 Year Anniversary
  • Alaska Cruise
  • Apple Picking
  • Blessed
  • Amazing New Friends
  • Visits from family
  • Trips to MN
  • Baby Sister Engaged
  • Wonderful Bible Studies
  • Peach Picking
  • Apple Pie Contest
  • Student Loans Paid Off
  • Snow on Christmas
  • Finished Main Floor Remodel
  • Finished Another 1/2 Marathon
  • Amazing Husband Who I Fall More in Love with Everyday....even though I might not like him some days I always love him!
I know there is more that I am missing. We have had an amazing year with some highs and some lows but I wouldn't change a minute of it. We have grown, fallen more in love, and have truly made where we are our home, finally (have I mentioned I don't like change)!

CHRISTMAS

Josh and I had a wonderful Christmas together. This is our second Christmas where it is just us and it was lovely. Not that we don't enjoy being with our families because we do and miss them so very much. But having a quiet couple days to ourselves is just what we needed.

Christmas Eve

We attended Christmas Eve service at church and then went to look at Christmas lights. We also opened up the rest of our Christmas gifts from Josh's parents.

Penelope LOVES her new toys!

Josh's mom sent a big box of yummy treats!

I love my new pampered chef pan!

.....and Penelope loves her new box!

Christmas Day

Josh woke up before me and decided to surprise me with waffles, bacon, whipped cream and strawberries for breakfast. It was delicious! After breakfast we started the fireplace and opened our stockings and the rest of our gifts. It was such a relaxing day.

 Yummy Breakfast

Couple stocking stuffers from mom and dad

Sweet girl loves her some paper and bags!
Josh has been telling me for months about this remote control helicopter for inside the house. He has no idea I got it for him. I must admit it is pretty fun to use!

I LOVE all the gifts Josh got me. He is always so thoughtful in what he chooses. One of his gifts was this cork board and map. I have talked for years about how my grandparents had a huge world map in their basement and would put a pin in to mark all the places they had traveled. He got one of the U.S. for us to start with. I am excited to put it all together and hang it up in the office.

Ummmm...remember how I said Josh is thoughtful?!?! He made this necklace for me! I absolutely love it! He waited to stain the necklace so I can help choose the color.

Wearing our pj's all day is the best!

*SNOW*

Well Christmas day and into the next is snowed, we got 10 inches total at our house. That is crazy for Arkansas! Josh had 2 work days canceled because of it. We decided to take advantage of the snow and made a snowman. I must say it is a kind of difficult playing in the snow with rain boots on, but you have to use what you have.  There are lots of tree branches and trees down behind our house and around the state. Lots of people without power too. Fortunately haven't lost power at our house.

Day 1

Day 2
I love how peaceful and pretty everything looks after a snow storm.
