Yesterday was Penelope's 1st Birthday and we had to celebrate kitty style. We didn't get any presents for her because the toys she likes and actually plays with we have plenty of. Her favorites are these tiny furry mice - which she constantly puts under the washing machine, dryer or the oven. and of course she has us wrapped around her finger so Josh and I have to get a flashlight and stick to look under them and get the stupid toy out. Another favorite of hers is pom pom balls...we bought a HUGE bag of these awhile back and she didn't know what to do with herself. The last of the favorites is one she IS NOT supposed to play with but manages to always get. I have a vase on a table near our front door that has decorative sticks in it. Well little miss P thinks she needs to jump on the table and play with these sticks. If we ever see her on the table she quickly gets sprayed with water. But she has now gotten so quick she can jump up there grab a stick out and runs away with it! Well right now she has 1 1/2 of these sticks around the house because she broke them. The thing that gets me is she will carry them around the house with her (the stick is at least 2x her size). Josh will sometimes throw one downstairs and she will go 'fetch' it and bring it back to us.....do we really have a cat or is she secretly a dog?? Anyway that is a little look into our Penelope's life. She is really a sweet, gentle and cautious cat. She definitely brings lots of laughter and enjoyment to our home. Here are a couple pictures of her "Birthday Party"...which lasted as long as it took to take the pictures :)
She will lay back and only let Josh carry her around like this.

She would NOT eat off of the plate it all had to be dumped into her bowl.
Awww, sweet little Penelope! Looks like a fun celebration! I am sure she loved it!
