What are you having for dinner??

Spaghetti Bread

We tried this for the first time about a year ago and sadly haven't made it again till now. Don't think about the carbs and enjoy!

Josh got to the bread before I could snap a picture

Debt Free and Flowers

We are celebrating this week as we have made our last car payment! Can't wait to have that extra money each month and happy we fully own both of our cars.

Yesterday, we received a beautiful basket of Easter flowers. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Meanwhile, little Miss. P decided to chase a moth that got in the house. I wouldn't have cared but she jumped up on the window sill by the kitchen sink and knocked over my plant and broke a jar as well....but that is life.

Thanks for Checking In....

Rainy Day Happenings

First off Saturday morning I was able to sleep in until 9:30 a.m!!! This girl is up by 8 at the very latest on weekends, so it was a nice surprise. Second, the reason I woke up was because Josh brought me breakfast in bed. He made my favorite banana pancakes with sausage. Over the years he has attempted to surprise me with breakfast in bed but I always wake up before he can get it upstairs to me. This was the first time I stayed asleep until he brought it in. Oh, what a great way to start the day!

Josh headed to the library shortly after that to study...boo! I then was supposed to have a LAZY day, but I can't sit still that long. So I cleaned, did laundry and finished some other little projects around the house. In my book I was still 'lazy' because I didn't go workout or leave the house all day....Josh says I failed. Ha!

Saturday night we needed to go let in our friends dogs for the night (they were out of town). I wanted to walk over because they only live about 1/2 mile from us and I needed fresh air. As soon as we walked outside it started to drizzle, we decided to walk anyway. We got out our big umbrella and headed out on out memorable walk. Memorable because it was a walk in the rain and we were silly the entire time. My heart loves these days and definitely loves my man!

WEEKEND REVIEW

FRIDAY

What a gorgeous day! I ran errands all afternoon and even wore capris and sandals. HELLO SPRING! It was Josh's AWS day but he spent the day at the library studying..boo! I am so proud of how dedicated and committed he is to studying for his upcoming exam.

SATURDAY

We cleaned up the front flower bed, got our hanging plants up, and planted flowers. I enjoyed reading out on the deck while Josh had to study inside.

SUNDAY

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

After a busy morning we both ended up taking a much needed 2 hour nap. Tonight I made shepherd's pie for dinner.

BIRTHDAY WEEKEND

This past weekend was a birthday celebration for me! My family knows how much I love my birthday (I begin the countdown in January...sometimes earlier)! My parents decided to surprise me and come down for the weekend.

FRIDAY
I picked mom and dad up at the airport. We came home and relaxed for a little bit before meeting Josh and Larry's Pizza for dinner. Josh is in the midst of studying for his PE exam in April so when he wasn't with us he was at the library studying. After dinner we came home and played a couple games before heading to bed.

SATURDAY
We headed out mid morning to check out the Plantation Agriculture Museum in Scott. After walking between the buildings in the freezing cold..there were even some "flurries", we grabbed lunch at Cotham's. Josh has been there several times and has wanted to take me there for forever. First off I must say, this place is a total dive, but you quickly get past that once you take a bite of their delicious burgers and onion rings. Before heading home we made a pit stop at Charolotte's Pies (thanks for the recommendation ladies). Their coconut pie is rated as one of the top pies in the south by Southern Living magazine. Instead of getting a whole pie to take home we decided to get several slices; chocolate, apple, coconut, caramel, and pecan. Yes, there were only 4 of us but we all shared the slices and we ate them over a couple days....that makes it all better right??

After we got home mom and I ran to JoAnn's to get some fabric for a curtain in our office and did some other shopping. Josh studied and Dad got to read and take a nap. We went for a walk through the neighborhood that night, as well.

Goats right next to the shack restaurant

Mom and I shared a hubcap burger (still a ton of food) and Josh ate a whole one on his own

We were wondering if Andrea wanted these for her wedding bouquet

Put my jacket on for our walk and found my running headband!! I will not lie, jumping was involved.

SUNDAY
Mom, Dad and I headed to church and Josh listened online so he could get to the library and study right after the sermon. We ate lunch at Panera and then stopped by Whole Foods for a couple things mom always like to get while she is here. I also stumbled upon this jar of deliciousness. If you like peanut butter and coconut you will want to try this!

That afternoon mom and I got the curtain made for the office. We had a little pest helper as well.
For dinner we had steak, rolls, tried a new broccoli and rice casserole (very good) and pie.

MONDAY
My official birthday!! Dad made me Grandma Hulzebos' pancakes for breakfast (THE BEST). Then we went for  a nice long walk around the neighborhood. Then mom treated me (and herself) to a relaxing mani/pedi at the spa. That afternoon we just hung around the house, I even took a little nap. Once Josh got home from work we went out for dinner at YaYa's...another delicious meal. Getting to spend my birthday with such an amazing husband and my wonderful parents was the best gift ever!
Horrible picture but it makes me laugh. Looks like dad is about to beat me with the spatula, not sure what I was doing.

I got a springy color on my toes :)

Off to dinner with my man

I ordered the Orecchiette...absolutely delicious!

VALENTINE'S DAY

Every year for Valentine's Day Josh and I stay in and make a meal together. Being in a crowded restaurant just isn't our thing. Josh has always gotten me a dozen roses as well. I have to give my man a shout out because he gets me flowers and other little gifts all year long just to show he loves me, not only on Valentine's Day. He sure knows how to speak to this girls heart!

We made crescent heart-topped lasagna casserole for dinner and our favorite carrot cake for dessert.

Love my flowers

As you can see we failed to take any pictures of ourselves...sweatpants and t-shirts aren't that glamorous anyway. I hope you all had a lovely day.

Today as we celebrate our love to each other don't forget about the greatest love of all..

'For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.'
Romans 8:38-39

Its Been Too Long

Was my last post really almost a month ago? Here are some pictures to update whats been happening since my last post.

Our new kitchen chairs were delivered! We love them!

My parents gave us an amaryllis bulb for Christmas. Normally you get 3-4 flowers off of it but we ended up getting over 10!

Not the best pictures, but I ordered 2 new 'dresses' from The Blue Door Boutique (check it out). I love them and think they are super cute but find it funny they are 'dresses' because as you can see they will never be a dress on me. Just a tad bit too short for that!

We got our first goodies box in the mail. We have enjoyed trying each item together and rating them online.

We decided to watch the Superbowl at home just us this year. As you can see Penelope enjoyed watching the game as well (don't pay attention to the crazy eyes).

I had been wanting to make some pillows for the living room for awhile, as you can see I finally got to it. Penelope loved helping while I measured out the fabric. I am happy with how they turned out and am pretty impressed with my sewing skills (thanks for the sewing machine Pat). I am going to make a couple pillows with the other fabric for the chair in out office.

And finally....this is about the extent of what Penelope has done the last week. She started to limp last week and it slowly got worse. We ended up taking her to the vet on Monday where she had to be sedated for them to get an x-ray. Thankfully no broken bones but she has a muscle tear. We have been giving her some pain meds and she is getting back to normal. Still laying around a lot but not limping and acting more like herself.

I think that is all for this post....Happy Wednesday!
