This past weekend was a birthday celebration for me! My family knows how much I love my birthday (I begin the countdown in January...sometimes earlier)! My parents decided to surprise me and come down for the weekend.
FRIDAY
I picked mom and dad up at the airport. We came home and relaxed for a little bit before meeting Josh and Larry's Pizza for dinner. Josh is in the midst of studying for his PE exam in April so when he wasn't with us he was at the library studying. After dinner we came home and played a couple games before heading to bed.
SATURDAY
We headed out mid morning to check out the Plantation Agriculture Museum in Scott. After walking between the buildings in the freezing cold..there were even some "flurries", we grabbed lunch at Cotham's. Josh has been there several times and has wanted to take me there for forever. First off I must say, this place is a total dive, but you quickly get past that once you take a bite of their delicious burgers and onion rings. Before heading home we made a pit stop at Charolotte's Pies (thanks for the recommendation ladies). Their coconut pie is rated as one of the top pies in the south by Southern Living magazine. Instead of getting a whole pie to take home we decided to get several slices; chocolate, apple, coconut, caramel, and pecan. Yes, there were only 4 of us but we all shared the slices and we ate them over a couple days....that makes it all better right??
After we got home mom and I ran to JoAnn's to get some fabric for a curtain in our office and did some other shopping. Josh studied and Dad got to read and take a nap. We went for a walk through the neighborhood that night, as well.
Our little friends...
COTHAM'S
Goats right next to the shack restaurant
Mom and I shared a hubcap burger (still a ton of food) and Josh ate a whole one on his own
We were wondering if Andrea wanted these for her wedding bouquet
Put my jacket on for our walk and found my running headband!! I will not lie, jumping was involved.
SUNDAY
Mom, Dad and I headed to church and Josh listened online so he could get to the library and study right after the sermon. We ate lunch at Panera and then stopped by Whole Foods for a couple things mom always like to get while she is here. I also stumbled upon
this jar of deliciousness. If you like peanut butter and coconut you will want to try this!
That afternoon mom and I got the curtain made for the office. We had a little pest helper as well.

MONDAY
My official birthday!! Dad made me Grandma Hulzebos' pancakes for breakfast (THE BEST). Then we went for a nice long walk around the neighborhood. Then mom treated me (and herself) to a relaxing mani/pedi at the spa. That afternoon we just hung around the house, I even took a little nap. Once Josh got home from work we went out for dinner at YaYa's...another delicious meal. Getting to spend my birthday with such an amazing husband and my wonderful parents was the best gift ever!
Horrible picture but it makes me laugh. Looks like dad is about to beat me with the spatula, not sure what I was doing.
I got a springy color on my toes :)
Off to dinner with my man
Mom and Dad enjoying their dinner
I ordered the Orecchiette...absolutely delicious!
